235 pound paper weight

After searching high and low for a gym that had decent daycare and coming up empty handed, Fernando surprised me with an elliptical. I have been keeping my eyes on getting a Life Fitness wonder for a few years, but the price tag of $7000+ new and $3000+ used kept me from buying it. Fernando looked around ebay and found a used and refurbished elliptical for a pretty good price. With shipping and set up in the home, it came to $1850. I'll give you the clips from the humorous set-up since it took almost 5 hours! First, the man drove the machine for 3 hours in the back of an open pick up truck, uncovered in the rain. Then with the dripping machine inside they attempted to disassemble the machine in order to take it up to our third floor bedroom. Even though they insisted that they knew what they were doing, it was more then obvious that they didn't. An hour passed before they realized that it would be better to just try to go up all in one piece (or at least all the pieces that they put back together). Five minutes was all it took to get up the stairs. The next several hours were spent reassembling and realizing that water and batteries do not mix. The whole unit didn't become functioning until a few days later. Sadly, I have only used it a few times since then. I hope that I find a better use for my machine than a giant paper weight and carpet holder.

you could always use it as an extension of your closet. You could hang you laundry on there! Paper weight carpet holder and clothes rack all in one?! Yes.

That's cool though that Fernando got you an Eliptical machine. It will be nice that you don't have to worry about the kids schedules, getting them out the door to get to the gym, exercising before the kids get tired, etc. That's what I always had problems with the gym and Parker. So, congratulations!

It must be the time of year for Elliptical runners: Joshua bought one a couple of weeks ago, and brought it home in boxes from the store. After a good many hours assembling, we had a HUGE machine in our upstairs game/media room. Three days later, the brand new rec center in our area opened, and for a smashing $65 a year, we can use all the elliptical, treadmill, freeweight, and other equipment we could ever dream of. Next day, Joshua takes three hours off of work, rents a 16-foot moving truck, we haul this assembled monstrosity down a flight of stairs(did I mention that I'm 7-months pregnant and that the elliptical machine weighs approximately as much as an average elephant?), and RETURN it to the store for a refund...

i don't know how I missed this post, I probably got caught up admiring the photo of the "best friends" (so cute btw) but this is a very funny story. you always did look great on the elliptical while pregnant!
